Abstract
In this chapter are described cytoarchitecture, subdivision and organization of the reticular formation, monoaminergic and cholinergic cell groups and their fibre connections. On polysomnograms are shown sleep stages and in the clinical part are demonstrated some sleep disorders and disorders of consciousness.
