Abstract
Non-specific urinary tract infections and genital tract infections in males are characterized by a high incidence. They are the most common nosocomial infections.
They are more frequent in women and older men. Urinary infection in younger men requires careful urological examination.
Urinary infections are divided into uncomplicated and complicated, which is important for further investigation, treatment and possible hospitalization. Mostly it is a bacterial infection with ascending spread.
In recurrent urinary tract infections we should exclude structural and functional abnormalities of the urinary tract and sexually transmitted infections.
