Abstract

Germline mutations in the adenomatous polyposis gene (APC) result in familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP). FAP is an autosomal dominantly inherited disorder predisposing to colorectal cancer.

The results of the molecular genetic testing are used both in the establishment of the predictive diagnosis and in the clinical management of patients.
