The production of mannan-binding lectin is dependent upon thyroid hormones regardless of the genotype: a cohort study of 95 patients with autoimmune thyroid disorders

Abstract

We analysed serum levels of mannan-binding lectin (MBL) in 95 patients with Hashimoto´s thyroiditis or Graves´ disease in two time points, at least 6 months in apart, and proved a significant positive association of serum MBL levels with thyroid hormones. This association was independent of the MBL2-genotype.
