Abstract

This hypothesis is indirectly supported by previous reports showing that cortisol levels were significantly higher in PD patients compared to healthy, controls and that cortisol concentrations significantly decreased after levodopa intake, particularly in patients with a more advanced stage of PDIn fact, it has been demonstrated that PD patients lose weight throughout the progression of the disease.
