Abstract
Aim of the book is to make Czech readers familiar with the topic of sustainable transport from social sciences' perspective. It is intended for students of social sciences, transport studies, clerks and municipal representatives.
For everyone interested in the functioning of subsidies, taxes and charges in transport and their impact on economics and environment. Apart from learning about key terms and relationships between transport, economics and society, the readers are informed about implementation and functioning of economic tools in transport in practice. 1st chapter introduces the topic of sustainable transport, explains key words and presents the main trends of transport development worldwide, EU- and nation-wide. 2nd chapter addresses positive and negative impacts of transport on society and environment. 3rd one focuses on transport policy tools, especially those regulating the negative social impacts of transport. 4th one is dedicated to sustainable transport in cities
