Abstract
The seminar focused on the valuation of non-productive functions of forest sites, including urban green areas. Professional community and representatives of public administration were taken up with the newest results of the project of Ministry of Agriculture 1R56014 „Monetary valuation of recreational and aesthetical function of forest in the Czech Republic“ and learnt more about broader sequences that brought out the project on Millennium ecosystem assessment.
Further, the role and policy implication of this type of research for decision-making process and forestry management was discussed. At the same time, legal issues linked to environmental damage on non-productive functions of forests and ecological harm were introduced.
