Abstract
The obituary reflects the character as well as the educational effort and involvement of Mrs Štěpánka Brožová, the teacher at Charles University in Prague and the chairwoman of ALFA (The Classical Languages Teachers’ Association). Her main focus in classical studies was on Greek and Roman culture, primarily on literature, and investigating its heritage in the later epochs, with a special regard to wide cultural contexts and with an accentuated need of communicating them to the young generation.
