Publication at First Faculty of Medicine, Third Faculty of Medicine |
2008

Abstract

Retrospective study of 42 cases with benign masquerade syndromes, treated in the Center for diagnosis and treatment of uveitis of the Eye Clinic VFN and 1st Faculty of Medicine in Prague. From the overall numer of 1112 patients these 42 cases were finaly diagnose as a benign masquerade syndrome.

Fluorescein angiography and cytology from the samples of intraocular fluids were the important tools for the proper final diagnosis of benign masquerade syndrome. Diagnosis of the masquerade syndrome should be considered in the cases where usual treatment of chronic uveitis does not bring expected therapeutic result.
