The incorporation of the novel histone variant H2AL2 confers unusual structural and functional properties of the nucleosome

Abstract

Biomolecular and structural (cryo-electron microscopy) studies show that nucleosomes with incorporated variant histones H2AL2 adopts more opened structure, associates only about 130 bp of DNA and cannot be remodeled by RSC.
