Obesity, adipose tissue and cardiovascular risk in rheumatoid arthritis

Abstract

Obesity is associated with increased cardiovascular and metabolic risk and play a significant role for development of seronegative rheumatoid arthritis. Obese rheumatoid arthritis patients usually have higher disease activity.

On the other side, several data demonstrated that higher BMI is associated with reduced risk of radiographic progression of early rheumatoid arthritis
