Abstract

"The paper deals with some topical aspects of the present situation and threat of international nuclear and radiological terrorism. The discussion includes potential opportunities of accessibility of nuclear weapons and very high activity radioactive materials that could fall into the hands of terrorists who could use them in attacking selected targets or vulnerable and vitally important elements of national infrastructure.

The article is also focused on the description of the definition of the role and function of international organizations, regional groupings as well the UNO itself, which have recently been increasingly engaged in combating international terrorism.
