Prophylaxis and treatment of thromboembolism in cancer patients

Abstract

The risk of thromboembolism (TE) in patients with cancer is more than six times higher than that foung in individuals without a tumour, the risk of TE varying widely depending on the type of cancer, the type of tumour therapy, and concomitant medication.
