Abstract

Textbook for bachelors include traditional topics of Hygiene and Epidemiology as a basis for biomedical primary prevention of diseases in the new concept. After getting familiar with the effects of environmental factors on human health, the textbook includes chapters about pollution and health, water and health, soil and health, waste management and health, internal building environment and health, nutrition and health, epidemiological methodology and epidemiology most important groups of diseases (cardiovascular, tumor, infection, trauma and allergies) and addiction(legal and illegal/illicit drugs ), vaccinations, decontamination, nosocomial infections, hygiene requirements for the medical services, hospital waste and the occupational risks in health care.
