Abstract
The term schizophrenia refers to a group of serious mental disorders manifested by a cross breach of integrity of mental processess. Thera are present disturbances of perception, thinking and cognition, which in turn affect the personality as a whole.
Diagnosis is based primarily omn proper clinical examination. The basis of therapy is a group of antipsychotic drugs.
After managing the acute condition other psychosocial therapies are added; they are aimed primarily to restoring social and cognitive skills and to the patient's return into common life.
