Abstract
The encyclopedical term homosexuality is about the terminology, about basic characteristics, the significance and relations to the identity and behaviour. Transcultural, medical and legal aspects are mentioned.
Also the etiology of sexual orientation is focused. The possibilities to change sexual orientation are critically evaluated, the psychoterapeutical approaches to coming out are characterized.
Homosexual orientation is also assessed in the kontext of feminity and masculinity scales.
