Mercury poisoning after cleansing of carpet from dustbins

Abstract

Case report describes acute mercury intoxication that occured accidentally in a young family after cleansing of contaminated carpet, which was found by dustbins. An acute mercury intoxication with bronchitis and neurological symptoms developed, six weeks of DMPS treatment lead to the acceleration of mercury excretion.
