Electron Spin Resonance Determination of Hydroxyl and Nitroxide Radicals in Depressions and Hyperlipidemia

Publication at First Faculty of Medicine |
2009

Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate by EPR the concentrations of hydroxyl and nitroxide radicals in blood serum of patients with hyperlipidemia and with depression in comparison with healthy persons. The clinical significance of this finding is not quite clear, but is supports the hypothesis about the participation of oxidative stress in the pathogenesis of depressive disorders.
