Abstract
Clonal chormosomal aberrations are detected in bone marrow samples of -50% of newly diagnosed MDS cases. Unbalanced aberrations are predominant leading to losses of genetic material.
The intestitial deletions of long arm of chromosomes 5, 7 and monosomy 7 are the most important for prognosis.
