Abstract

Malignant vulvar tumors must be treated by radical removal of the tumor as well as a sufficient amount of surrounding healthy tissue. The resulting defects can be resolved by skin transplants, local transfers, skin flaps, muscle flaps or free tissue transfers.

We describe the case history of a patient who underwent radical vulvectomy for a malignant tumor with immediate reconstruction by local flaps from the area of inner thighs and mons pubis. The advantages and disadvantages of this method are compared to other reconstructive surgery methods.
