Bariatric surgery and diabetic: a practical quide to its pros and cons

Abstract

Bariatric surgery is one of the most efficient procedures in treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. It can bring a bout remission of diabetes in up to 90% of the cases, but even in spite of that, it can fail, especially in non-compliant patients and/ or patients who have suffered from diabetes for a long time.
