Abstract
The chapter presents the basic principles and algorithms of the most important breast imaging and interventional methods. Mammography remain a „gold standard“ for screening and detection of breast cancer.
Ultrasonography is mainly used as an adjunct method to mammography, used for clarification and further evaluation of findings found by mammography or clinical examination. The main interventional methods include core biopsy and vacuum assisted biopsy.
The basic procedures in localisation of unpalpable lesions are describe.
