Thrombolytic therapy of acute central retinal artery occlusion

Abstract

Arteria centralis retinae is the main retinal supply artery and is an ending branch or arteria ophthalmica. Acute ischemia of the retina, papilloedema and retinal cell necrosis develop in patients in whom a thrombus or embolus occlude this artery.
