Mitochondria and pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes mellitus at the level of pancreas and particular insulin-senzitive tissues

Abstract

The article reviews current knowledge about the role of mitochondria and its dysfuction in pathogenesis of insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes with regard to the specific role of pacreas and different insulin-sensitive tissues.
