Dopamine agonist-induced generalized edema in Parkinson's disease

Abstract

This case report describes the development of generalized edema after switching from the dopamine agonist pergolide to another dopamine agonist pramipexol in a patient with advanced Parkinson's disease. The incidence of edema as an adverse effect of dopamine agonist treatment, edema risk factors and currently available therapeutic options are discussed
