Anti-sperm auto-antibody (ASA) in the sperm can negatively influence fertility of both partners

Publication

Abstract

There were 212 couples registered in our clinical study, treated for primary sterility. Increased autoimmunity against sperm is often detected also at man with normal native sperm count.

The presence of ASA on the sperm is mostly undetectable during the normal examination but it could have negative influence on fertility of both partners of the infertile couple. The examination to detect anti-sperm auto-antibody should be a routine part of the semen examination
