Abstract
Acute-phase protein reaction is an adaptive uniform response of hepatocytes to a violation of organism integrity. This reaction covers an increased synthesis of a group of plasma proteins with defensive role during inflammation with a concurrent depression of both structural and transport protein synthesis.
