Abstract

Prohepcidin showed itself as a negative acute phase reactant during systemic inflammatory response syndrome associated with a cardiac surgery indicating that the evolution of prohepcidin in postoperative period implies the antagonism of stimulatory effect of IL-6 and contraregulatory factors.
