Abstract

Béatrix de Bourbon, the now forgotten Queen of Bohemia, was the second wife to John of Luxembourg. Their son was Wenceslas, the Duke of Luxembourg, born in Prague in 1337 under "peculiar" circumstances that suggest performance of caesarean section , an operation which was extremely hazardous at that time.
