The Correlation of Genotype and Phenotype in Children with Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease

Publication

Abstract

Adult patients with autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPDK) caused by mutations in the PKD1 gene have a more severe course of the disease and worse prognosis than patients with the PKD2 gene mutations. No study of the influence of the mutated gene on the course of the disease in children has been performed so far.
