Abstract

Symptoms of common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) include recurrent and prolonged infections including respiratory infections. The presented case documents the female patient with CVID who developed disseminated infection caused by a vaccination strain Bacillus Calmette-Guérin in adulthood.

Many granulomatous pulmonary diseases are considered in a differential diagnosis including hypersensitive pneumonitis, amyloidosis or lymphoid interstitial pneumonia. Substitution of immunoglobulins in CVID patients and their possible complications are discussed.
