Abstract

The second common cause of ulcer disease is that related to abusus of NSAID´s. This drugs are delivered to the gastrointestinal mucosa via topical, systematic or enterohepatic delivery produces ulcers complication withing a few hours or days.

NSAID use reported in about 40% of patients presenting with the ulcer complication of bleeding and perforation in upper or lower part of GI tract. Acid secretion has to be markedly inhibited to promote rapid gastric healing of gastric ulcers in presence of continued NSAID use, the ability of NSAID´s to cause intestinal ulcers leaves no question about ulcerogenesis independent od acid-peptic activity.
