In 2008, 1,403 occupation-related diseases were acknowledged in 1,115 workers in the Czech Republic. The occupational diseases contributed to this number with 1,327 cases.
The status of being endangered by occupational disease was reported in 76 cases. The incidence of occupational presented 30,7 case on 100 thousand of employed health insurance policyholders.
Most of the occupational diseases were acknowledged in the Moravan-Silesian region (23,1%). Most of the acknowledged case were metalworkers (15,5%).
The most frequently diagnosis of occupational disease was the carpal tunnel syndrome (26,3%).
