Changes in activity of monoamine oxidase, citrate synthase and enzymes of respiratory chain induced by antidepressants and mood stabilizers

Abstract

Results are demonstrated and discussed describing inhibition of monoamine oxidase, increasing of activity of citrate synthase, significantly decreasing of activities of respiratory electron transport chain complexes I and IV, and decreasing of total oxygen consumption following in vitro addition of different antidepressants and mood stabilizers to mitochondria.
