Mesothelial proteins are expressed in the human cornea

Abstract

We determined for the first time the presence and expression of three mesothelial proteins in the normal adult human cornea.Mesothelin was detected in the corneal epithelium, endothelium and stroma.HBME-1 antibody strongly stained the corneal endothelium and stromal keratocytes.Calibdin 2 was detected in the corneal epithelium,endothelium and stroma.
