EUNOMIA (European Evaluation of Coercion in Psychiatry and Harmonisation of Best Clinical Practice) international project, which focused on the use of coercive measures in psychiatry and Czech Republic took part in, proceeded from 2002 till 2006. The interest in opinions, feelings and attitudes of relatives of mentally ill was traced for the first time in international concept.
This article presents national results. We found out that relatives were generally satisfied with the fact that their family member in acute state of mental illness was admitted and got an adequate treatment and care.
The article also contains answers on general questions concerning involuntary treatment in psychiatry.
