Asymmetrical distribution of the transcriptionally competent NORs in mitosis

Abstract

We found that competent NORs are asymmetrically distributed between the daughter cells in mitosis. In vivo study of NORs in cells expressing UBF-GFP showed that some mitotic NORs lack the signal of transcription competence on one of the sister chromatids
