Abstract

Fibroblasts from benign fibrous histiocytoma so as the cells malignant one are phenotypically nearly identical with normal dermal fibroblasts. They differ in activity on keratinocytes; the cells from benign form induce strong expression of keratin 19 and production of galectin-1 rich extracellular matrix. The cells from malignant form lead to similar phenotype as normal fibroblasts.
