Galanin modulating effect on restraint stress-induced short- and long-term behavioral changes in Wistar rats

Abstract

The anxiolytic-related and anti-stress effects of galanin found in our investigation support the notion presented by many authors that this drug has the potential for treating those dysregulations where galanin participation is involved. Our study adds to previous observations that the galanin regulatory system seems to be a suitable target for treatment and that the systemic application of this peptide has some therapeutic potential.
