Oxytocin and oxytocin receptor in the regulation of peripheral and central effects; utilization of oxytocin agonists and antagonists for the study of involved mechanism of action

Abstract

The discovery of new oxytocin functions in the CNS and signaling pathways, iniciated by the occupation of oxytocin receptors, involved the possibility of using oxytocin agonists and antagonist as a terapeutic treetment of some psychiatric disturbances.
