Publication at First Faculty of Medicine |
2010

Abstract

Fifteen years of paediatric reconstructive laparoscopy of the upper urinary tract in children has changed significantly the conventional surgical approach to these anomalies. Surgery is performed through the abdominal cavity or retroperitoneoscopically.

The benefit of laparoscopy in comparison with the open surgery is obvious in older children, it remains under discussion in infants. This article addresses technical aspects of the frequently used operations in children.
