Clinico-pathological correlations: Shredding Keratoderma

Abstract

Clinical case describes 62-year-old patient treated for 3 years peeling skin in shred. The disease was only in palms and soles.

We detected gram positive bacteria in the ground of perforated corner layer of epidermis by biopsy examination. Finding corresponded with keratolysis sulcata and was confirmed by specific cultivation.

In culture we detected Corynebacterium species.
