The mortality of colorectal cancer (CRCA) is worldwide significant. There is a good evidence for benefits of the CRCA screening in mortality reduction.
Since 2009 the population of the Czech Republic has two possibilities of choosing the method of the CRCA screening. The programme is based on periodic faecal occult blood test (FOBT) at the age of 50 and the new alternative Primary screening colonoscopy (PSC) at the age of 55.
