Abstract

In this study we report, to the best of our knowledge for the fi rst time in the literature, a multiclonal monoallelic interstitial 13q14 deletion. We present the case of a patient with progressive CLL with three diff erent sized monoallelic interstitial 13q14 deletions found in three clones.

By metaphase fl uorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) analysis, we succeeded in proving that at least one deletion had arisen independently from the two others. Furthermore, retrospective interphase FISH analyses showed the presence of multiclonality of the 13q14 deletion already at the time of diagnosis.
