One of the 3 characters of postmodernism according to Ronald Inglehart is uprising of new values and new lifestyles. The analysis which will be presented in this contribution uses the Inglehart's concept of postmaterialist values and their development in the Czech Republic since 1990 in the European and global context.
This is a secondary data analysis based upon data of a long-term research World Values Survey (WVS) and the European Values Study (EVS). It is rather important for Czech citizens the quality of the work or the amount of income? What place in the values of the population have questions related to the environment? How is the perception of the human existence, what are believes of CR inhabitants? These and other similar issues are covered by the research conducted WVS and EVS.
There will be introduces typical materialists vs. postmaterialists values in this article. The size of CR inhabitants believing in these values will be presented as well.
This contribution will explain how postmodern the Czech society is and what development we can expect in future. The article will use notions of range of Inglehart's and other authors' outputs.
