Another Barrier Is Broken! Germany Celebrates Another Progress Towards Accessible Tourism.

Publication |
2013

Abstract

The author of the article informs about the planned introduction of a single classification of marking accessibility of barrier-free tourism services in Germany. This is the current success of coordinated activities of the relevant local initiatives and their long-term systematic efforts of making tourism available to all, including persons with disabilities.

The unification of marking is being presented as a clear progress in the competetiveness in the field of tourism services by the managing tourism organisations in Germany. In this context, the author points out a longer tradition of tourism in Germany and differences in its management.

She also mentions the differences in the underlying framework conditions.
