Abstract
The aim of this paper is to describe Patočka’s interpretation of modernity after the Second World War. My main concern is the concept of “supercivilization”, which represents a significant shift in Patočka’s thoughts.
More precisely, I understand this concept through the perspective of contemporary civilizational analysis, with an emphasis on the heritage of Max Weber’s sociology.
