Abstract
The following contributed article deals with three interconnected festivities that took place in the Ústí region in late August of 1913. The primary purpose of the ceremonies was related to the events which took place in the Ústí region one hundred years earlier, ie. in 1813 – in that year, the region witnessed battles and fights that were a part of the Napoleonic wars.
Nevertheless, this jubilee opportunity was used to present ideas which commanded the German society in the Czech lands at that time, be it nationalism or militarism, relating to the anticipated world war conflict.
