Requiring Justice through Non-Human Actors: Drove-Ways and Green Paths in Spain

Public walking paths in Spain have their origin in drove-ways used for purposes of transhumance - in this case a socially unjust system of the Spanish Crown practised for three centuries. Despite the paths were now proclaimed the public property they are being appropriated, either illegaly or with a consent of authorities.

The historical origin of the paths and a sense of justice are among the claims used to fight them back for the public use. The article brings an insight on the actors involved (human and non-human) and strategies they use.
