Humanitarian emergency of the Czech Red Cross and experiences with the deployment at fire of the high-rise apartment block and with the cooperation with emergency services of the Czech Republic – traffic accident of the bus and tram

Abstract

Humanitarian Unit of the Czech Red Cross (local branch Prague 1) pursue disaster preparedness for many years and try to adapt to the current requirements. The aim of the following contribution is rarely monitored issue of the availability of the fast humanitarian aid and care during emergency.

There are two points of view: First one is the need of this kind of help and the second one is possibility to ensure it in short time. Project „Humanitarian emergency of the Czech Red Cross” contributes to improve care about people who are affected by some kind of disaster and suffer by deficiency of fundamental needs.

The project started in June 2011 and in August 2011 Humanitarian emergency was used in the case of evacuation of the high-rise apartment block because of fire and also at practice with the emergency services (IZS) of the Czech Republic – traffic accident of the bus and tram.
